The Athletics claimed Perdomo off waivers from the Angels on Sunday.
Analysis: Perdomo doesn't have minor-league options remaining, so he'll presumably report to the Athletics in the next day or two and slot into a middle-relief role. The southpaw didn't pitch in 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but with Pittsburgh in 2023, Perdomo made 30 big-league relief appearances and logged a 3.72 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 44:11 K:BB across 29 innings.
Angel Perdomo Dropped from 40-man
The Angels designated Perdomo for assignment Tuesday.
Analysis: Perdomo split his spring between Atlanta and Los Angeles, giving up six runs (two earned) while striking out eight batters across 10 total innings. The left-hander doesn't have any options remaining, so he'll be stripped of his 40-man spot as the Halos attempt to send him to Triple-A Salt Lake. Jose Quijada was also DFA'd Tuesday, creating room for Tim Anderson and Ryan Johnson to join the active roster.
