Robert Suarez Notches second save
Suarez struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his second save of the season in a 4-3 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: The 34-year-old right-hander has wiped the slate clean after a bumpy spring training, picking up saves in each of the Padres' first two games without allowing a run or a hit. Suarez finished fourth in the majors last season with 36 saves in a breakout campaign, and he appears to be on track to be among the league leaders again in 2025.

Suarez earned the save in Thursday's 7-4 win over Atlanta, issuing one walk while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.
Analysis: It was an encouraging start to the year for Suarez after he struggled to an ugly 15.43 ERA in Spring Training. Despite the rough spring, Suarez entered 2025 entrenched as San Diego's closer after converting 36 saves while posting a 2.77 ERA in 65 innings last year.
