The Phillies informed Clemens on Monday that he has made the Opening Day roster, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Clemens nabbed the final bench spot over Buddy Kennedy after posting an .857 OPS with two home runs this spring. He will be used mostly in a pinch-hitting role while providing backup at multiple positions.
Kody Clemens Headed for role reduction
Clemens is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
Analysis: Clemens had started nine of the Phillies' last 10 games, going 7-for-34 (.206 average) with a home run, three doubles, six RBI and five runs. His starting opportunities will likely be few and far between moving forward, however, as Alec Bohm (hand) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Sunday and will slot back in as the Phillies' everyday third baseman.
